Hi! First things first, I’m Vivian. Born and raised in Queens, NY. Living in New York allows me to experience food from many cultures – boy am I lucky! Simply hopping on a subway or bus, I can enjoy pho at Pho Bang in Elmhurst, pizza at Di Fara's in Brooklyn, or Sri Lankan at Sigiri in the East Village, just to name a few places I adore and frequent.  I am a lover  ~ of all things that tease and stimulate my taste buds ~ of treats that are so beautiful they are almost too beautiful to eat ~ of cooking and trying to recreate dishes from my favorite restaurants  ~ of food trucks  ~ of bacon! ‘nuff said  ~ of sharing food, laughs, and drinks with friends and family and now you   I am excited  ~ by farm to table restaurants  ~ by exotic meats – discovering “feel good” proteins  ~ by quinoa! Barbecue served up Steve Ells' style!

RESTAURANT:  Mighty Quinn's DATE: March 3,2014 LOCATION: 103 2nd Ave New York, NY 10003 So, I'm on a no-carb diet because... I don't know why...but luckily the bread sucked anyway I stole a nibble from my friend's brisket sandwich bun, upon me complaining that it was bland and hard he said that if the bread was too soft it would not be able to soak up all the brisket juice and BBQ sauce..so there you go I know nothing about bread, except that I like mine soft and with butter.  In any case, I ordered the single serving of pulled pork, which was tender and juicy almost all the way to the last bite, (my last piece of pig was a tad dry). The BBQ sauce was sweeter than I'd like (but I'm not a BBQ sauce connoisseur, so I don't know if that's normal sweetness) but it wasn't overpowering at all. It was more like really sweet for a second then delicious for the rest of the chew-session.  The meat came with a side of creamy cole slaw topped...

West Coast Eats: May the Pho Be With You

DATE: Summer 2015 LOCATION: OB Noodle House 2218 Cable St San Diego, California 92107 Vietnamese Pho is not on the top of my favorite Asian go-to food or noodle soups. Personally, I haven't had a really good, amazing pho in all my life in NYC. But friends had told me that pho is really good in California, and after stalking BuzzFeed lists, I was psyched to give it a try. By the recommendation of a friend and a feature on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, we decided to go to OB Noodle House . I could already tell this dive looking bar was going to be good, based on not just the amount of people also waiting for a table, but the look and fragrance of the bowls of noodles that wafted past us. While we patiently stood waiting for our table, I scrolled through Yelp and read a number of reviews mentioning how the wings were a must.
