What gets eaten in Vegas, gets posted about here! Part 2

On our 2nd night in Vegas, we went to Mesa Grill. This is Bobby Flay's restaurant and I'd been wanting to go here for many years so I was mucho excited! I got put on the spot when I got to the bar and ordered a Vodka and Soda, instead of the obvious choice: A Margarita. But I quickly corrected the mistake when I got to the table and ordered a White Peach Margarita. YUMO! It tasted like a sweet peach tea. It was refreshing and delicious and pink! Here is what we ordered:

CAULIFLOWER GRATIN + Roasted Poblano - This tasted like macaroni and cheese with a kick to it. It was very creamy, and the cauliflower took on a soft pasta like consistency. It was rich and very flavorful.

MANGO + SPICE CRUSTED TUNA STEAK Green Peppercorn - Green Chile Sauce+ Toasted Pine Nut Couscous - I apologize but I do not remember at all how this tasted, but I ate all of it so I'm sure it was good. Actually what I do remember is that the consistency of the couscous was very grainy, and I prefer the pearl kind.

BLUE CORN PANCAKE  Barbecued Duck + Habanero Chile - Star Anise Sauce - This had so much duck in it! The pancake was more of a crepe because it was very thin, and served more like a soft taco shell. This was delectable, however the sauce that accompanied it, we all agreed tasted more asian-inspired than southwestern. Either way it went down the hatch with no problem, and I didn't taste any anise, which I no likey.

SMOKED CHICKEN + BLACK BEAN QUESADILLA  Avocado + Toasted Garlic Creme Fraiche - Confession time: I'm a sucker for quesadillas. I can't properly judge them because I think they're all great. The tortilla was exactly how i like it, soft but still toasted. Also I can't properly judge things with avocado on them because avocado belongs on everything.

TIGER SHRIMP + ROASTED GARLIC CORN TAMALE - Cilantro Sauce - So quick background: lots of different Latin American countries have their own tamal, and they're usually pretty different. Personally I tend to only like the ones from Colombia, and the few I've had that were Mexican were really not impressive. And then I had Bobby's corn tamal, and it was definitely a game changer for me. It was like corn bread but moist and savory, and also buttery, which means also delicious. The shrimps were good too, but it was all about the ground corn meal.
